"Sure, sounds fun." Alex says relieved.
"Cool." Danny replies. Something about a change of plans bothers him but I'll have to find out later. There's a lot of tension here. Damn I hate tense atmospheres because whenever Mother and I are alone its like the atmosphere is so weighted down with tension that if it got any more tense it would crush us, well that's my feeling, probably not so much hers. Anyways, we pull into a parking spot and walk into the Striker Hotels lobby. I see Dante at the front desk. "Hey Dante!" I call walking over to him, Danny and Alex trailing close behind.
"Hello Ms Eli Rose. How are you?" He replies friendly.
"Fine. These are my friends Alex and Danny."
"Alexia. It's Alexia." Alex corrects.
"Daniel." Danny says.
"Ahh. Are you two related?" Dante asks.
"Yeah I'm older by a year and a half." Alex says.
"Whats your last name?"
"Adoree`." Danny says. The name sounds perfect with his slight accent.
"We'll be in the penthouse." I say turning to leave.
"Oh wait! Ms Eli, this came for you in the mail." Dante says holding out a blood red envelope with my full name written in perfect script in black ink. It looks like it was written with a fountain pen from the quality of the ink. Ugh! Did Mother really rub off on me THAT much? I can determine what type of pen something was written in. That's low. Very low.
We get to the Penthouse floor and I lead the way to our penthouse. PH9. The letter is still not opened. I take the key , that I painted electric purple, and chain off my neck by sliding it over.
"Cool way to keep your key." Danny points out.
"Thanks." I reply shyly. I open the door, allowing Alex and Danny to walk in, then close the door behind me.
"Woah. Sweet room." Alex says. I lead the way to the den where my Macbook still sits on the couch and my Ipod is still in the dock. Danny walks over to my Mac.
"Mind if I go through your Itunes?" He asks pointing to my opened laptop. Apparently I had Itunes opened to the Itunes store before I left. Typical.
"Go for it." I say. "Oh help yourself to whatever is in the kitchen. I think there's soda in the fridge."
"Thanks." Alex says walking into the kitchen. I sit next to Danny on the couch.
"Chase Coy, Safteysuit, The Fray. Good stuff." Danny comments. "So your into the light rock, acoustic, alternative kinda music."
"You could say that. Yup." I reply.
Danny smiles. "Good. That's what I'm into." I smile back.
"Then we'll get along quite well."
"Oh really?" We both laugh. Alex comes back and we stop, attempting to hide out laughter.
"What?" She looks confused. "You know never mind. I don't want to know." She says jokingly.
"Wanna rent a movie?" I ask.
"Surelyness." Alex replies.
I put on my favorite movie, "Nick and Norah's Infinite Play-list", only to learn that both Alex and Danny have a liking for it. We're in the middle of the movie when Mother comes in.
"Helloooooo!" She coo's from the main hall. She walks into the den where everyone turned silent. "Hello my darling." She says to me. I blush furiously. She notices Danny and Alex. "Oh what a surprise! You have friends!" She says like it's no big deal.
"Hi Mother." I mutter. She's dressed in a knee length pale pink skirt and a white blouse. Lord knows who the hell designed it.
"Aren't you going to introduce me to your friends?" She asks eyeing Danny, who lightly brushes his hand against mine giving me the "breathe" face, like shes my age. Gross.
"Not really." I mutter then say "They were just leaving."
"Oh well, another time then." She says still flirting with Danny. If you could do someone with your eyes she would so be attempting that right now.
"Sure. Maybe. Probably not." I say getting up leading Danny and Alex to the door.
"What was that tone?" She asks, hands on hips. Ohhhh. So scary.
"I wasn't using one Mother." I reply flatly.
"I hear a tone and I don't like it."

"I never said you should." I mutter.
"Get to your room." She point to my room. "Now."
I glance at Alex and Danny who are in the door way. I rool my eyes, slam the door, and walk down the hall to the elevator with Danny and Alex trailing right behind me.
