Changes Part 2

'The Striker Hotel' is beautiful. I've lived in more hotel penthouses in my life you wouldn't believe me if I told you. New York City. The heart of New York, the life of the party. I'm starting to like this place at the same time i start to hate Mother. Do this, Clean that, Unpack that, This goes there, that goes there! Elinor why can't you do something right!? Holy shit! Mother seriously needs to cut me some slack. This time I'm ditching before she starts going into hysterics. I'm not the perfect daughter she always wanted because, sorry to tell you all but, no one is perfect! If everyone could get that damn statement through their head then maybe there could be some hint of perfection in this world but currently, there is none. I jump in the elevator and slowly make my way to the lobby. My new blackberry bold rings playing the chorus of The Mess I Made by Parachute. It's Mother. I groan and click the ignore button. Well this will come back and bite me in the butt later. I walk through the lobby to the front desk.
"How can I help you young lady?" The man at the front desk says. I read his name tag and his name is Dante. Hes an older black man who sounds really sweet and sincere.
"Uhm yeah hi. I just moved here with my mom and I was wondering where I could get something to eat." I ask.
"Oh hello! You must be Lilly Linel's daughter." He says
"Yeah, I'm Elinor. You can call me Eli." I smile and he returns my smile.
"There's a cafe' that sells everything from pizza to cookies and sandwiches there 2 buildings to the right. All the kids your age go there. They have live music on Fridays. It's called The Solar Lounge."
"Thank you."
"Any time. Tell me Eli, do you have a middle name?"
"Mhm, Rose. Eli Rose Linel. Do you?"
"Yes I do Ms. Eli Rose." I smile. "I'm Dante Scott Destan."
I mimic his light joking tone and say, "Well Mr. Dante Scott, I'm starved. I'll see you when I come back."
"It was nice to meet you Eli. I hope we can be friends." Dante smiles.
I laugh. "I would like that very much."
I walk out the door and turn to the right headed toward The Solar Lounge.
