Mirror Image Chapter 3

I close my eyes. My mouth starts to burn. Man, I just can’t get away from that burning sensation. Ow. Two sharp things pierce my tong, forcing me to move it away from my teeth. Fangs. I have fangs. Not as dull as a vampires or as thick as a dogs. They’re slick and sharp and strong, like…a spider’s. My mouth goes dry, then it’s my throat. Hey guess what? My throat starts to burn.

“Rider,” I whisper in his ear. I tangle my hands into his hair. I feel cat ears. What the hell?!

“Yes?” He replies.

“Dude what the bloody hell! You have cat ears.”

“You can see them? Or feel them?”

“Both. I’m colorblind not completely blind.” I say matter-of-factly.

I hear Ella chuckle. “Hey genius boy, I’m trying to stay out of this but she did just make the transformation. Care to explain to her quote what the bloody hell unquote is going on?” She laughs. Ella has the same sense of humor as me.

“Good point.” He looks at me. I kind of freaked because I can see the color of his eyes but no other color. “So love. You’ve now made the transformation to the Skilance community, a.k.a. ‘The Community’. The community is a group of Starlers, sons and daughters of the stars.” He pauses. “The thing with Starlers is that your two biggest fears are your biggest advantage, except when we transform we aren’t afraid of them anymore.” I smile. He smiles moving my hair out of my eyes. “Yours are spiders and mirrors right?”

“Uhm yes?”

“Okay so mirrors I know for positive. You’ll be able to do something with a mirror. What it is varies from Starler to Starler. I’ve never seen the Spider before, have you Ella?”

“No. That might be why she’s colorblind.” She replies unsure of herself. “Check her teeth. Spiders have fangs. Your teeth go as sharp as a cats when you transformed.” I open my mouth revealing my fangs.

“Now that’s just downright sexy.” Rider stares right into my eyes then kisses my cheek.

“I’ll take that as a ‘yes she has spidey fangs’.”

“I can see your eye color Rider but they aren’t green they’re blue…wait. No now they’re a deep, sexy red” I stare into his eyes.
